Take a Look Inside!

On your next visit to the Theatre, come and have a look at our fantastic facilities and explore the beautifully designed extension with fascinating displays from the Theatre’s long and interesting history on every floor.

At our café – Vanilla Black at the Theatre – you can enjoy a range of refreshments from coffee and cakes to soup, sandwiches, salads and paninis. Complimentary wi-fi is available for cafe-users.

The building itself is eye-catching, and worth a visit in its own right. Try taking one of the lifts up to the top floor for a peek through the viewing gallery at Balcony level, which looks into the spectacular auditorium. While you’re there, check out the roof terrace offering high level views of the city and all the way to the Campsie Fells.

Heritage ExhibitionAs you wind your way back down the spiral staircase, stop at some of the window bays, each with its own a unique ‘postcard view’ of Glasgow, or explore the theatre’s heritage on one of the interactive touchscreens.

A heritage exhibition area, supported by Heritage Lottery Fund, is also open. Housed in the ‘old’ foyers on Hope Street, the permanent display looks at some of the famous performers and performances to have graced the theatre’s stage, and the first in a series of changing displays features the opera Madama Butterfly.
